Does my cat love me? Probably yes – since cats are very affectionate creatures. They just have a very different way of showing it!
If you’ve been fortunate enough to share your life with a cat, then you’ll defs understand that they’re continuously connecting with us.
SO DOES MY CAT LOVE ME? HERE ARE THE SIGNS:
1. Fuzzy / furry / crinkly / stolen and odd gifts –
Cats are notorious for bringing “presents” from their latest adventure for their owner.
These can include anything from an old leaf, pretty flower from your manicured garden, an odd sock stolen from the home 3 houses down from you, a toddler’s fluffy play toy or the very unpleasant sight of a dead bird, moth, rodent and sometimes worse!
You must be appreciative of these efforts and thank your cat kindly for these gestures. At the end of the day – who doesn’t like gifts rights?
2. Belly up –
This gesture shows your cat’s vulnerability. Meaning if your kitty starts rolling around – she is expressing her appreciation, love and utmost trust for you.
3. Tail twitching –
The tail expresses most of our fabulous feline’s moods.
Tail twitching though has a whole different meaning. If your cat’s tail twitches at the tip, usually while they are prancing around you, it means that your cat couldn’t be happier at that very moment!
4. Butting heads with you –
A head butt is the sincerest form of flattery that you can receive from your cat! As your cat touches heads with you, she releases a special pheromone onto you.
Pheromones are feel good chemicals and cats use their pheromones to establish their territory. So consider yourself officially owned too!
5. Kneading you / your face / the pillow and anything that’s available –
Kneading is a natural instinct they develop when born. Kittens knead on their mom’s tummy to stimulate her milk. This feeling along with the milk makes them incredibly content.
By carrying on this behaviour as an adult, it’s said that they’re basically remembering this comfort and now expressing their contentment around you.
6. Your shadow –
Feel like you are being followed around or about to be tripped as you walk?
Cats love to rub themselves around one’s legs. So just know that they aren’t intentionally trying to trip you, but rather just choosing this precise moment to give you some love.
7. Those purrfect purrs –
It’s common knowledge that a purring cat is a happy cat.
Purring has health benefits too, as it helps lower her heart rate AND helps her to relax. I’m pretty sure it has the same effect on you!
8. Sleepy head –
Cats are the rulers of cat naps; and are almost always guaranteed to be sound asleep in the best spot in the house.
Should your cat decide to curl up and snuggle with you / on you – your cat has indeed paid you the biggest compliment of them all.
How does your cat express her love for you? We’d love to hear more.
